Employment Formalization in Indonesia: Role of Parents’ Employment Mobility Toward Children’s Employment Mobility

This study aims to analyze the impact of parents’ employment status mobility on children’s mobility. In doing so, we applied a two-stage multinomial logistic regression model. this research, refers from informal formal jobs and vice versa. Using data Indonesian Family Life Survey (IFLS) for period 2007 2014, profile workforce was dominated by stayers. The estimation results indicate that only fathers’ has significant effect mobility, where fathers who are stayers experiencing upward will provide greater opportunities their children be fewer experience downward Moreover, mothers does not have Our points out pivotal role in influencing formalization Indonesia. findings could valuable inputs policy-making regarding
